Stephanie & Michael Tie the Knot Pt. II

Stephanie being an avid blogger herself, will be sure to post her pictures and story over at hello poppet, if she actually gets a spare moment, but this is part 2 of my take on the big day.

I love the picture below, it's almost as if no one else was there, just a silent moment shared between the newlyweds.

I also love Mikey's cheeky grin here, that and the fact that the Reverend is smiling too. He was great, he put a little humour into the ceremony, which was very much in the spirit of how Stephanie and Michael wanted things.

The happy couple chose to have rose petals for confetti, not only environmentally friendly, but it looked far more elegant than the usual multi coloured paper affair.

Seeing as Stephanie and Michael didn't have the car for the entire evening (they actually walked home hand in hand from the reception.. how sweet is that) this was my little take on a car trail for them after church. In keeping with tradition and also their wedding themes, it's a mixture of tin cans and handmade pompoms.

My little number pegs did get put to use in the table plan after all!

Check out the cake table, that was all homemade by Stephanies aunties. And to the right is the vintage table, with a little polaroid noticeboard that was added to throughout the night.

Pompoms galore! Seeing as Stephanie is not a fan of balloons (which to an extent I'm in agreement with), the humble pompom was the way forwards in affordable decoration. Not sure of the total figure we reached, but with the help of my parents and over 2 days, I think we made more than 50 of them and that doesn't even include the gorgeous tulle ones Steph's mum made for the church!

Not only did Stephanies friend Nic (the little design princess) turn Stephanie's invitation and save the dates ideas into a wonderful whimsical reality, but she dressed the whole reception on the morning of the wedding (along with an army of Steph's aunties) and also created this beautiful alternative to a guestbook as a memento, which Stephanie and Michael can display proudly in their home, instead of having a guest book that will probably get tucked away for all eternity.

Oh how I love a scrummy traditional British cream tea!! And this one was no exception... mmm...

Like I said, Stephanie and Michael.... not so serious!

All in all it was an absolutely wonderful day and not just for the fact that it was the joining in matrimony of two of my most favourite people, but it was also especially great to be so closely involved with lots of hands on creative projects and seeing all our hard work come together.

Stephanie & Michael Tie the Knot

This is a long overdue post (part one of three in fact) about a wedding very dear to my heart. Yes, it's finally here...

Malene and Jesper

Another day out on the coast, but this time in Denmark! Malene and Jesper are a very sweet couple who have asked us to do their wedding pictures. For their engagement session they wanted pictures in the area around Jesper's families summer house on the east coast of Funen, as it's a place that holds a lot of fond memories for them both. It was a great location and a wonderfully warm day out, not a cloud in the sky.

Jesper is a bit of a petrol head, so we had a lot of fun shooting pictures of them with the motorbike he bought along.

We finished up our adventure in the garden of the summer house, with a couple of beers, a little silliness and a nice bit of shade after being in the sun all day.

I love this last picture, it was the only moment that Ronja, (their adorable jack russel) actually sat still for two seconds, what a cutie!

I promised Steph and Mikey's wedding pictures about a month ago now, but unfortunately we've had a few problems with our raid drive (which contains all of the edits) and it's had to go off for repair, but as soon as we get it back, I'll get blogging away on their special day.
